Captron

An extensive range of capacitive and optical sensors, as well as complete sensor systems, are developed and manufactured by Captron for use in a variety of industries.  Their TCP (tool center point) measurement technology for robotic automation systems ensures maximum precision for tool calibration.  Two perpendicular aligned laser light barriers determine the robot’s tool deviations and are used to automatically correct the TCP for automatic movement correction of the robot.

Product Information

In many robot applications such as dispensing or welding, the tooling is constantly changing due to wear or deformation.  Given these applications require the highest possible accuracy, it is imperative that the tool center point (TCP) is regularly checked and calibrated, i.e. after a tool change, after each maintenance, at the beginning of a shift or after each process cycle.  This recalibration should happen automatically, minimizing downtime, reducing scrap and rework, and increasing the quality of the products produced
